Electric Toyota GR86 is the Track Car we have been waiting for: the SCR1 by Scalar Performance

Toyota GR 86 and Subaru BRZ built as a track car and full EV

Hey everyone! The Toyota GR86 (or Subaru BRZ) is a great platform both for driving and for modding. Now, it is taken to the next level of awesome.

Scalar Performance has taken the GR86 and built it as a electric car specifically for track use. From a racing perspective, there are a lot of benefits from EV power including power delivery, weight distribution, regenerative braking, the list goes on. But while we have seen Teslas more and more starting to track (including me with the EVTUNERS Model 3) we have not seen many dedicated track cars that are designed for racing from the ground up. Another benefit of the Toyota GR86 / Subaru BRZ chassis is the broad aftermarket support and loads of information to dial the car in outside of the powertrain, like tires, suspension, and body modifications.

Join Joel and I as we take a deep dive on the SCR1 and look at all the details. The car is already hitting the track, and is 1 of 2 built currently. Scalar is currently targeting 2024 for the production version release!
