Toyota Land Cruiser is Fully Electric and Faster than New with a Nissan Leaf Drivetrain Conversion

Toyota Landcruiser gets a Nissan Leaf Conversion for the ultimate 4x4 off road machine

Hey everyone! The Toyota Landcruiser is a classic for a reason being reliable and extremely capable off-road while sporting classic good looks. The typical V6 found in them are getting long in the tooth, and Jimmy from EVSWAP in Denver found just the right way to reenergize this favorite.

Starting with a Landcruiser that needed some love, Jimmy set about taking out the worn V6 and all the ICE system. Then, he snagged a wrecked Nissan Leaf and pulled out the battery and drivetrain. Finally, that Nissan Leaf drivetrain was hooked up to the Toyota Landcruiser so electric power was supplied to the original transfer case and drivelines. The end result is a car that is more performant and faster than the day it was new, and is a whole lot cheaper to fill up.

Join Jimmy and I as we take a deep dive on the fully electric Toyota Land Cruiser and look at all the details. While we caught up during the State Of Charge EV Conference, this awesome car sees the dirt roads at every chance Jimmy gets.
